Third Generation Volvo S60 Launching In India; Bookings Start From Jan 21, 2021

The Swedish Car Maker, Volvo, officially unveiled the third-generation Volvo S60 in the Indian market on November 27, 2020 (Friday). The company is planning to launch it in early 2021. The sedan was earlier planned to be put on sale a few months ago. But the launch plan was delayed because of the on-going COVID19 pandemic.

However, Volvo is all set to make it big in the Indian market with the new year. It is all set to launch the all-new S60, which promises to be just the start of many other launches. Currently, the SUVs and sub-compact SUVs are gaining popularity day by day. However, even during this trend the Swedish carmaker is quite confident with its new offering and believes that S60 will leave a noticeable impact on the market.

3rd Gen Volvo S60 Engine

The sedan is going to be available with the solitaire engine option, producing a maximum power of 187 bhp and peak torque of 300 Nm with its 2.0-litre petrol engine.

The S60 has a 4761 mm X 2040 mm X 1431 mm (length X Width X Height) dimensions and has 2872 mm wheelbase, the best-in-segment wheelbase.

The S60 is loaded with a mile-long list of features that will definitely lure the customers. The list of features include, but not limited to wireless mobile charger, cleaner air in the cabin thanks to CleanZone technology, Harman Kardon music system, etc.

3rd Gen Volvo S60 Safety Features

The company has always primarily focused on safety features and the all-new S60 is going to be loaded with these features.

  • City Safety feature: With this technology, the car will be able to detect pedestrians and cyclists and will warn the driver if the current speed is above 50 km/h.
  • Lane-keeping aid: This feature will get activated when the driver gets above 60 km/h.
  • Driver alert control: This feature detects the fatigue of the driver.
  • Adaptive cruise control

When Will Deliveries of Volvo S60 Begin?

The company has officially announced that the bookings for the upcoming Volvo S60 will begin from January 21, 2021, and it will commence deliveries from March 2021.

In the Indian market, the S60 will become a direct rival of BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
