Tata Motors Likely To Launch Altroz Turbo-Petrol Variant in January 2021

Tata Altroz received a turbo-petrol engine in the recent past and Tata Motors was testing it on the public roads for quite some time. And now, the company has made it official that the Tata Altroz event will be held on 13 January 2021, through an official invitation.

However, the Indian automaker has not confirmed if it is going to introduce a limited edition model of the Tata Altroz or launch the turbo-petrol model, which has been in the talks for a while now.

Features of  Tata Altroz

The compact car will be powered by a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that will be rated to deliver a maximum power of 110 PS. Talking about the transmission, the new Tata Altroz variant is expected to come with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Transmission Options of Tata Altroz

The current model of the Tata Altroz was put on sale in India in the early 2020. And the current variant is available with two engine options – a petrol unit and a diesel unit. However, the current model only comes with a 5-speed manual transmission option.

But it’s interesting to know that Tata Motors is more likely to use the opportunity to launch a new variant of the Altroz with an additional transmission option transmission – dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Exterior Features of Tata Altroz

Talking about the exterior details of the Altroz Turbo, it might not be that different compared to the on-going model. If we look at the spy images that were leaked some time back, the turbo badge will be put on the bottom of the Altroz’s tailgate.

Apart from that, the new Altroz will be available in the same Tectonic Blue colour which was originally available on the Nexon SUV.

Rivalry

The new turbo variant will help the company to expand its Altroz range and after its launch, it will be a direct rival to the Hyundai i20 Turbo.
