Renault recently made Kiger an official name for its latest upcoming subcompact SUV in the Indian market. Kiger is being prepared to enter one of the most competitive segments in the Indian automobile industry.
Currently, Renault offers Kwid, Duster and Triber in the Indian market. Out of them, Kwid and Triber received a huge number of sales and a really good success in their own segments.
However, the company will expect Kiger to perform really well in terms of sales as it will be introduced in a very competitive segment after it is launched. The company unveiled the show car version of Kiger and Renault promises that the final manufactured product will be almost 80% identical to the model unveiled.
Compared to the other segments, the sub-compact SUV segment in the Indian market has grown a lot in recent years. It offers a wide range of options for potential customers and Renault Kiger will be targeting this aggressively expanding its horizons in India.
The company also confirmed that the new Kiger will be powered by an all-new Turbo engine and also promises a spacious cabin along with a huge cargo area.
Renault Kiger Rivalry
Kiger, after launching, will become a rival to Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, the latest Kia Sonet, Toyota Urban Cruiser, and Mahindra XUV300. Apart from these, the upcoming Nissan Magnite will become a rival too.
Design Features of Renault Kiger
The Kiger’s show car version showed some exceptional styling options. And Kiger is going to make an impact because of its exterior design features. The Kiger might feature-complete two-level LED headlights, neon indicator light, tail lights with C-shape, 210 mm ground clearance, 19-inch wheels, front & rear skid plates, and roof rails.
The upcoming subcompact SUV is based on the similar CMFA+ platform as seen in the Triber.
Technology Features of Renault Kiger
The company has gone the extra mile to load the Kiger with technological features. Renault has put its complete focus on targeting the highly competitive subcompact SUV segment. For this, the Kiger might feature an Apple CarPlay and Android Auto large infotainment screen, a premium sound system, wireless mobile charging, controls that are mounted on the steering, and appealing ambient lighting that may also be on the cards.
Kiger Launch Date
The company has not announced an official launch date for the Kiger however, the subcompact SUV might roll out in the first quarter of 2021. The pricing of the all-new subcompact SUV is going to be very competitive owing to the popular segment it’s going to target.
