Sub Compact Suv Nissan Magnite

New Sub-Compact SUV Nissan Magnite Unveiled

Nissan has finally unveiled the new sub-compact SUV Magnite after months of teasing people with images & specs. With the new Magnite, the Japanese carmaker is hoping to make it big and put a mark in the extremely competitive sub-compact SUV segment.

Magnite has a lot of expectations and will go against established players such as Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Toyota Urban Cruiser, and Kia Sonet.

Engine

The company is promising a great driving experience with its Turbo HTA0 engine option. However, the buyers may also go for the company’s more popular X-Tronic CVT transmission option (automatic).

Exterior Design

Front Side

The new sub-compact is adorned by sleek LED bi-projector headlights, LED L-shaped DRLs, LED fog lamps, and LED streak turn indicators on both sides. Also, the black front grille is slightly similar to the one seen on Datsun cars. The Magnite gets a sporty front visual profile.

Sideways

The Magnite received a ground clearance of 204 mm and square wheel arches. Talking about wheels, it gets 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. And the functional roof rails are also noticeable which can be used to carry luggage or even cycles. The windows are sufficiently big and the roof is tapered slightly towards the C-pillar.

Backside

The rear side is simple yet eye-catching. The sleek LED tail lights & the ‘Magnite’ badge right under the wiper is the reason.

Cargo Space

The Magnite offers a 336 litres cargo space as the rear seats can be folded in 60:40 split. This is sufficient for a sub-compact SUV although it looks like that the lifting angle might be slightly too high, especially for heavy luggage.

Interior Design

Nissan has certainly worked extra hours to ensure that the Magnite’s cabin remains superior to the cabin of other cars offered by the company in India.

Here are some interior design features:

  • An eight-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
  • Rear parking feed and a side camera feed for parallel parking.
  • Six speakers. Nissan may offer an optional Tech pack at launch, replacing with these premium speakers.
  • The optional Tech pack will also offer wireless phone charging system
  • Air purifier,
  • Puddle lamps, and
  • Ambient mood lighting
  • Large and easily visible HVAC control dials
  • Drive statistics & information such as tyre pressure is visible on a digital 7-inch TFT instrument cluster
  • Seats come with added cushions
  • Rear seats have a center armrest along with two cup-holders & a slot to place a mobile.

Enhanced Driving Function

The new sub-compact SUV features a Drive-Eco function. It keeps rating your driving by providing scores and also suggests various helpful ways to enhance your drive efficiency.

Safety Features

Nissan is offering various safety feature in the new sub-compact SUV such as:

  • Dual Airbags,
  • Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) to safely manoeuver in tight spaces,
  • Hill Start Assist (HAS),
  • Traction Control,
  • Anti-Roll Bar, and
  • ABS with EBD

Colour Options

The company is promising multiple colour options at the launch. However, the company is mainly highlighting the four-coat flare garnet red colour.

Final Verdict

The company is clearly putting in a lot of efforts to fine-tune even the smallest details. Magnite is a really promising sub-compact SUV and not just for the company but for the buyers at large.

We can expect the launch in late November and can expect Nissan to come up with an extremely aggressive price structure for the car.
