Jaguar Land Rover has commenced local assembly of the Range Rover Velar and the company has announced that the model will be priced at INR 72.47 lakh (ex-showroom, pan India). Bookings for the model are now open while deliveries are scheduled to begin in May 2019.
The locally produced Velar is approximately INR 12.71 lakh less expensive when compared to the CBU variant. This Velar will be available exclusively in the R-Dynamic S variant and can customers can choose between two engine options. These engine options will include a 2.0-litre petrol motor and a 2.0-litre diesel motor. The former is capable of producing 250 hp at 5,500 rpm and 365 Nm of torque at 1,500 rpm while the latter produces 179 hp at 4,000 rpm and 430 Nm of torque between 1,750-2,500 rpm. Both engines are paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels.

Feature-wise, the locally assembled Range Rover Velar will come equipped with LED headlights, LED DRL, 20-inch alloy wheels, R-Dynamic exterior package, 360-degree parking camera, park assist and a panoramic sunroof. Inside, the model receives full leather interiors, four-zone climate control, ambient lighting, 380W Meridian music system, Touch Pro Duo infotainment system, activity ket and a powered tailgate.
