Benelli, under their new partnership with Mahavir group, announced a new tie-up for the Benelli brand in India after their previous partner, the DSK group, landed into financial trouble. Under the brand, Adishwar Auto Ride India (AARI), the subsidiary of the Hyderabad based group would handles sales and service for Benelli and would officially be known as Benelli India.
Now, the company has announced their first new launch under the new partnership, which will be the introduction of the TRK 502 and TRK 502X motorcycles that will be launched in the country on February 18, 2019. Test-mules of the adventure tourer was previously spied testing in India, hinting that the launch was not far away.
The new adventure tourer from Benelli will be available in two variants including the TRK 502 and TRK 502X, the latter of which will be the off-road spec model. The distinguishing feature between the TRK 502 and the TRK 502X will be the wheels on the models. While the former will receive 17-inch alloy wheels at the front and rear, the latter will come equipped with 19-inch wire-spoke wheels and 17-inch wire-spoke wheels at the front and rear respectively.
Powering the Benelli TRK 502 range will be a 499.6cc, liquid cooled, parallel-twin engine that is capable of producing a maximum power output of 47.6 hp at 8,500 rpm and 45 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. This engine will come mated to a six-speed transmission.
